Biography

Hi, my name is Dan Avenell, and I'm an artist, illustrator and graphic designer based in London, UK.

I usually create my art with pencil and ink, then scan it into Photoshop and finish digitally. I also use traditional media such as acrylics and the silk-screen process

With Craig Tilford, design editor at The Face, designed a range of advertising concepts for Courvoisier. The finished ad was used worldwide

Recently collaborated on ads for Guerlain's Insolence and Kenneth Cole

 

Designed and illustrated the sleeve for Let's Wreck- The Gravest Hits Of Coffin Nails

Also designed T-Shirts and other merchandise

 

Co-created the magazine Head, writing and drawing three of its comic-strips, including the nearly-legendary Existentialist-By-Night

 

Gun-Totin' Squirrels, an adult-orientated animated series currently in development (allegedly)

 

Designed flyers and posters for clubs including Loose!, Hazzard County, Stardust, Hang Out & Hustle!, Turning Worm Presents, Journey Into Mystery, EveryOtherWeeker and Club NME

Other projects include record sleeves, club flyers, t-shirts, logos, comic-strips, web-design, package design, calendars, photo-retouching, portaiture and animation
